There’re many actors playing in action movies. Some of them (especially villains) should have a look that makes them more imposing, that scares people. There’s strong pattern to being brutal — the beard and long hair, or a bald head, but this is not working at 100%, and these guys show us how to not be brutal even if you had all signs.

Viggo Mortensen, Keanu Reeves, Johnny Depp

So I’m going to show 10 true brutal actors. This is experimental list, so you can find here someone you’re not expect and vice versa.

10. Jean Reno

All started from Luc Besson’s “Leon” — the brutal killer with loving heart. Crash everything, kill everyone for someone, he fitted to such roles (“Wasabi”, “ Jaguar”, “ L’immortel”…).

9. Javier Bardem

Started from “Las edades de Lulú” Bardem plays villains, but, despite the fact that Anton Chigurh’s look isn’t so brutal, only the Coen Brothers’s “No Country for Old Men” bring him true bit of brutality.

8. Vincent Cassel

Absolute villain of the whole french cinematography. It’s OK, that you play bad characters, but Vincent Cassel is way over this. “Sheitan”, “Dobermann” — these are just the tips of the iceberg.

7. Sylvester Stallone

Especially one role — “The Rambo” bring him the status of brutal actor. He was american soldier with Vietnam war scars. Instead of being veteran he became the fighter, fighter of freedom.

6. Jason Statham

He started his way to big movie production by acting in Guy Ritchie’s movies. Starting from “Mean Machine” he became a new standard of brutal British guys.

5. Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis is the étalon of brutal hero in Hollywood. All started from “Die Hard” and goes till now. He’s getting older, but he’s brutal as the same.

4. Mickey Rourke

In his first roles he was handsome guy that easily seduce women, then he took the shape of biker — you know, motorcycles, leather jacket, etc. But the level of his brutality significantly increased firstly by “Sin City” of Quentin Tarantino and finally by the “The Wrestler”, a movie where he’s brutal as ever.

3. Vinnie Jones

Another bit of brutality from GB. Vinnie was a professional footballer, but even there he was the baddest guy. Things not changed in movies. “Mean Machine”, “Snatch”, “Gone in Sixty Seconds” — he is “brutality”.

2. Benicio Del Toro

One of the most serious actors of all time. Again started his brutal ways from “essential Tarantino and Guy Ritchie” and created such famous brutal faces as Lado (“Savages”) and Alejandro (“Sicario”).

1. Peter Stormare

Less famous Swedish actor started path of the most dangerous guy from Coens’s “Fargo”. His role in “Prison Break” series made him an idol of many boys that loved to see strong, serious and extremely bad criminal character. He has so many roles that I simply can’t list. His last work was with Till Lindemann in his new music clip.

Of course we have some people that would have 100% of Brutality Level, but among already listed guys there’s no one can even reach out them.

Steven Seagal, Danny Trejo, Adriano Celentano
